Scholarships/Financial Assistance
A number of our faculty members are awarded with scholarship or research funding from many sources. One of the most prestigious scholarships is the Royal Golden Jubilee Ph.D. (RGJ-Ph.D.) Program from the Thailand Research Fund. In the year 2008, a total of 10 faculty members with excellent research records and strong international collaborations have been awarded with such scholarship. The grants also provide support for students to gain international research experience for 6-12 months. The grants cover most essential items and there is no obligation to work for government agencies after completion of doctoral studies. However, each student is required to produce a least one international publication before his/her graduation. The budget is approximately 2,000,000 baht (maximum 5 years) for a student with a B.S degree (Table 1), and 1,500,000 baht (maximum 3 years) for a student with an M.S. degree.
